Las Vegas-Pawn Stars, Heart Attack Grill

Vegas was a lot of fun. It was nice for me to spend several days there, because I just cannot do the strip in large doses anymore. Even just going for a few hours every day, I got SO tired of being surrounding by so many people...Kansas must be rubbing off! However, every time we go it seems we find something new and fun to do.

This time around we went with Jeff, Todd's brother, and he suggested we head to the pawn store made famous on Pawn Stars. It was a really fun little trip. Even though we didn't see Chumley or any of the other stars, it was neat to see some of the items that had been featured on the show.

After that, we headed down to Fremont Street, where Todd ate a really gross fried Twinkie. It wasn't even a Twinkie, because we all know the Twinkie story, but still. Blech!

THEN! Todd somehow roped me into going into the Heart Attack Grill, where you have to wear hospital gowns to eat and they serve burgers 8 patties high. No lie. This place was CRAZY! Maybe you've heard of it on the news. I guess it got really famous for a while, because some guy who had eaten there every day really had a heart attack and died. Also, they serve shakes with a pad of butter on top.Yes, it's true. Suffice it to say, it was a little too weird for me, but once we got in and got used to it, it was a silly Las Vegas experience that was memorable. We really liked our waitress too (they have to dress in really tight nurses' uniforms, so....yeah).

We did not get a hamburger. We got fries cooked in lard, and a milkshake.  Can you spot the butter on the shake?

We thought the receipt was hilarious!
