Field Day

There are few things more hilarious than watching 100 kindergartners do a sponge relay.

No, really! They didn't know whose team they were on, they didn't know how to squeeze the sponge, heck, some of them thought you were supposed to DUMP the water your teammates had so painstakingly collected.

However, they screamed and jumped up and down like they were winning the flippin' lottery. It was fabulous.

The bonus? The ones who caught that slick piece of grass and sailed into "home." The ones who wore their brand new clothes (on field day? HELLO!!) and started bawling when they ended up covered in mud. The ones who *thought* they were winning when three other teams had already claimed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.

6 is a magical age!

p.s. Oh yes, I got my first sunburn of the year today. Well, my first sunburn on my legs (actually a small spot on the back of my thighs, it looks stupid, and I'll have to wear jeans til it goes away). My first sunburn of the year actually happened on March 17. MARCH! I've been a fan of the Topeka weather this year :)
